Old Photograph of Hastings Pier

Old picture from the Victorian / Edwardian era of Hastings pier. The pier was opened on August 5, 1872, by the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports, Earl of Granville but part of it was destroyed by fire in 1917 and had to be rebuilt. It was designed by Eugenius Birch, who also designed the West Pier further down the coast at Brighton. Aerial map of Hastings Pier
